Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Manager of Financial Reporting to assist in preparing journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, and other financial reports. This role involves executing daily accounting processes and transactions in support of the Controller. The ideal candidate will manage direct reports, conduct detailed reviews of team deliverables, and thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
Role and Responsibilities
To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following competencies:
- Document financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Drive the preparation of financial statements.
- Review financial transactions and ensure adequate workpapers.
- Provide guidance for improving workpapers and procedures.
- Analyze financial discrepancies and verify entries.
- Produce error-free accounting reports with robust supporting documentation.
- Recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Develop and document business processes to strengthen internal controls.
- Communicate effectively with regulators as needed.
- Foster strong client relationships through positive interactions.
Qualifications, Experience & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 10-12 years of accounting experience or equivalent knowledge.
- CPA certification required.
- Insurance industry experience is essential.
- 8 years of managerial experience.
- Proficiency in NetSuite and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong technical accounting skills with knowledge of US GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles (SSAP).

Physical Demands
This position requires regular office duties, including sitting, standing, and walking. Employees must be able to communicate effectively, lift light objects (less than 25 lbs), and use standard office equipment. Occasional bending, twisting, or stooping may be necessary.
