025903 Sr Process Engineer - IBC (Open)Job Description:
Conducts process optimization trials, performs troubleshooting and analysis, and develops strategies to reduce product variability, waste, and operating costs. Work closely with plant leaders, process technicians and operators, providing training, standardized processes, to optimize colleague safety, product quality and cost.
Work with Global Operations Group and respective teams to ensure alignment and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote improvements on production process through Kaizen, VSM and other lean techniques in conjunction with Opex, with emphasis on productivity gains, labor optimization, quality, seeking new methods or technologies, replicating them in other plants.
- Lead training of plant operators and leaders on standard production execution, to assure colleague safety, product quality and cost.
- Create, execute, and support process related training materials (Industrial Packaging 101) to be deployed on Training Matrix.
- Support the implementation of new equipment; helping to create work instructions, standardization of work, training matrix.
- Work with Project Engineer to elaborate and justify new investments or projects to improve equipment output, automation, to reduce the cost per piece produced.
- Create statistical analysis, charts, drawings, and reports to help illustrate and showcase potential issues within a product lifecycle or business process and how to improve it.
- Ensure adherence to existing Standard Operating Conditions (SOC) & develop and track SOC for all major equipment with min/max ranges.
- Work collaboratively with Site Maintenance to establish a Critical Process Equipment (CPE) Program to ensure all CPE items are audited and well-maintained.
- Apply root cause analysis and analytical problem-solving techniques to daily problems and/or misses.
- Work with Reliability Engineer and Quality to deploy complete VQS in each equipment.
- Develop optimum process parameters to achieve desired quality and product certification performance requirements. Works with plants and develops programs to ensure optimal process parameters are maintained.
- Works with facilities to help achieve and maintain product certifications.
- Replicate lessons learned, standard practices increasing the synergies across the substrate to have all plant colleagues in the same level.
- Contribute and work together with product engineer to elaborate testing, prototypes, samples, or any other effort related to production process to make new products.
- Work together with Reliability Engineer on equipment troubleshooting, documentation and training for maintenance colleagues.
- Work together with other engineering teams, with the common purpose of building a strong technical foundation at the plants.
- Work closely with OPEX and other support functions to drive A3 continuous improvement projects.
- Stays connected to Management of Change, and product performance monitoring and provides support when needed.
- Works with facilities and the Standards and Compliance MDM teams to help define and establish plant labor standards related to LN Item, by maintaining the plant labor standards files.
- Actively participates on product and process audits activities.
- Collaborate across substrates with Process Engineers on tools, programs and strategy execution.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or technical field of study preferred
- 15+ years of technical work experience within industrial packaging specific to designated substrate (Fiber or Plastic)
- Bilingual Preferred - Spanish/English
