Base Salary: $90 - 115k (DOE)
This is an Onsite Position -- not Hybrid, although there is flexibility for work/life arrangements
Senior Accountant -- CPA Preferred (or Public Accounting experience)
Job Details:
We are seeking an Senior Accountant to join our team in the Health Care Industry. This role offers an incredible opportunity to bring your expertise to a thriving and fast-paced environment. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of financial activities including consolidations, accounting, general ledger, audit, and financial statement preparation. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity etc.
2. Responsible for consolidations, intercompany transactions, and financial statement preparation.
3. Conduct regular ledger maintenance and reconciliation.
4. Coordinate and complete annual audits.
5. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
6. Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
7. Liaise with our Financial manager and Accounting manager to improve financial procedures.
8. Participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior company leadership.
9. Support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
10. Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Health Care or Insurance industry.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
3. Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
4. Experience with creating financial statements.
5. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
6. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
7. Accuracy and attention to detail.
8. Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
9. Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
11. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
12. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
13. Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting software packages.
14. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
