We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in the Real Estate industry. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in accounting, with a preference for real estate accounting. This role will be responsible for a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, bank reconciliations, general ledger entries, forecasting, and budgeting. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to shape the financial strategy of the organization, working closely with senior leadership to drive growth and profitability. Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
2. Oversee all general ledger transactions and ensure that all ledger reconciliations are completed in a timely manner.
3. Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
4. Serve as the primary contact for external auditors during financial audits.
5. Maintain the company’s financial accounting system, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
6. Assist with tax preparation and filing activities.
7. Provide guidance to junior accounting staff and review their work for accuracy.
8. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.
9. Collaborate with management to develop and implement financial strategies.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related field. Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
3. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in real estate accounting.
4. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Strong analytical skills to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
6. Proficient in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
8. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential to succeed in this role.
9. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines.
10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
