Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday | 8:45 am – 5:30 pm
(Saturdays may be required during tax season)
Compensation: $95,000 – $105,000 annually (depending on experience)

Job Summary:
As a Senior Accountant at SMG ABA, LLC, you'll manage full-service accounting for clients across various industries. Your role will involve preparing and reviewing a diverse range of tax returns, including corporate, partnership, and individual accounts. You will oversee month-end, quarterly, and year-end financial processes, ensuring accuracy in reconciliations, payments, receivables, and planning. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with clients, provide guidance to junior team members, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review a variety of tax returns, including corporate, partnership, and individual returns, with precision and attention to detail.
- Prepare and file specific forms such as 1065/1120s, 754, 101, 743b, with a focus on FL tax compliance.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior team members, reviewing their work and offering constructive feedback to ensure quality.
- Conduct tax planning and research to identify opportunities for tax savings and minimize client liabilities.
- Collaborate with clients to gather tax-related information, address inquiries, and deliver exceptional service.
- Stay updated on tax law changes and regulations to ensure compliance and adapt strategies as needed.
- Assist in resolving tax-related issues and inquiries from tax authorities on behalf of clients.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of tax processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and offering proactive tax advice.
- Participate in SMG ABA recruiting, team-building, and other firm events.
Qualifications and Attributes You Will Need:
- Minimum of 4 years of solid accounting experience in either public or private sectors.
- At least 4 years of experience in tax preparation and planning, preferably within a public accounting firm.
- In-depth knowledge of tax rules and regulations, with experience in FL tax compliance.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Enrolled Agent or CPA license preferred.
- Proficient in accounting software and systems, with a strong understanding of technology tools used in tax preparation and research.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex scenarios and offer innovative solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective concept communication to clients and colleagues.
- Client-focused mindset, dedicated to delivering exceptional service and maintaining long-term relationships.
- Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and committed to accuracy in tax deliverables.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
