This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Consultant Geotechnical Engineer for our New York, NY office.
Be involved in projects with our Geotechnical and Tunneling Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
This opportunity provides geotechnical engineering assistance and guidance for multi-site/phase due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, improvement, and construction of infrastructure projects and systems in the public and private sector. Tasks include assisting with the research, design, concept development, planning, and construction of facilities, roads, buildings, tunnels, dams, canals, levees, bridges, water supply systems, underground storage, and sewage treatment. Substantiates reports and documentation regarding material, installations, and construction specifications. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality.
Your Impact
- Development and management of subsurface investigation and laboratory testing program
- Execute geotechnical standard practice, develop geotechnical design and analysis strategy for transportation/transit projects, foundation design, retaining wall design, embankment design, support of excavation design, seismic design using geotechnical engineering software such as SLOPE/W, SEEP/W, LPILE, GROUP, DEEPEX, ct-Shoring, GRLWEAP, PLAXIS, PHASE2, FLAC, PROSHAKE, etc.
- Provide geotechnical memoranda, data and design reports, and Contract Documents
- Providing geotechnical support during construction
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of local New York geotechnical experience
- BS in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering emphasis
- NYS PE license
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven experience in NYC area geotechnical practice and geology
Preferred Qualifications
- MS in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering emphasis

Expected Salary: $74,900 - $148,500
WSP USA is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.
