Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Sr. Data Engineer:
– Develop, maintain, and support data pipelines to move data from enterprise applications to our client’s data lake/warehouse analytical stores
– Collect and monitor metrics necessary to quantify system performance and forecast future capacity needs
– Collaborate closely with the Data Warehouse team and other Engineering teams to ideate and build solutions
Required Skills for Sr. Data Engineer:
– 8+ years of experience in BI Engineering and Data Engineering
– Experience in schema design for decision support, particularly dimensional data modeling, building data marts, data lakes, etc.
– Strong skills in SQL (query plan optimization, windowing functions, aggregate design for example)
– Experience with Data Modeling in Power Bi or Tableau
– Expertise in Snowflake, Postgres DB, Redshift, or Data Bricks
– Experience with PySpark (Python API for Apache Spark)
