Reporting directly to the Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO), the Sr. Director, Data, Analytics, and Integration (DAI) is a pivotal member of the DIT Leadership team, responsible for overseeing the Managed Data, Analytics and Reporting, and Connectivity capabilities. Alongside other Leadership Team members, this individual is expected to extend their leadership beyond their immediate team to foster a cohesive technological and strategic unity within the broader global DIT organization. This role involves close collaboration with Business Technology Solutions, DIT Strategy & Governance, Cybersecurity, and Infrastructure & Operations teams to align data strategies with organizational needs, enhancing decision-making and operational efficiency across the company.
This position focuses on developing and implementing a comprehensive data and AI strategy development and implementation, managing data collection and storage, driving advanced analytics and business intelligence, ensuring seamless inter-system integration, and data governance standards, including Master Data Management. This role plays a crucial role in ensuring that the organization's data assets are leveraged to their full potential, driving significant improvements in business processes and decision-making.
Data & AI Strategy:
- Develop and execute a robust data and AI strategy that supports the organization's long-term goals, optimizing data-driven decision-making processes.
- VISION: Uncover and articulate the full breadth of possibilities of the use of existing/potential data assets and provide a comprehensive vision of how data could be leveraged.
- STRATEGY: Develop a scalable strategy to collect, manage and store, expose and visualize data across the organization and drive enterprise-wide governance and utilization of information as an asset.
- ROADMAP: Create a comprehensive, relevant, pragmatic and fit for purpose roadmap focused on building the foundational data capabilities and democratizing data to all functions
Data Collection & Management:
- Oversee the secure storage and accessibility of data across platforms, including Data Warehouses and Data Lakes. Manage ETL processes and presentation layers to ensure data is accurately collected, stored, and made readily available for analysis.
- Lead implementation of a global data store roadmap (warehouse, ODS, data lake, etc.) that provides the right balance between standardization, quality and availability.
- Discover current and future data sources and execute on a roadmap that will bring data together from data capture, data cleansing, integration, availability and curation.
- Ensure that data infrastructure, including technology platform and the data itself, is sufficiently robust to support the current and emerging needs of the functions.
- Run day-to-day operations to provide timely and reliable data streams
- Ensure process and architecture documentation is created and maintained.
Business Intelligence & Advanced Analytics:
- Lead the development of reports, dashboards, and AI models to transform raw data into actionable insights. Guide the analytics team in leveraging advanced analytical techniques to support business objectives.
- Deliver prioritized data and BI capabilities which will serve as a differentiator in how Quaker Houghton operates
- Assess current and future reporting needs and incorporate into a BI implementation roadmap to standardize and modernize legacy or manual reporting, while providing thought leadership into simplifying and exposing data to enable data driven decision and exception management.
- Lead a program to create a robust, enterprise-wide measurement framework which enables leadership to clearly understand business trajectory, operational readiness, and other key functional KPIs which most matter to the successful measurement & improvement of the organization
- Establish self-service reporting capability and lead change and knowledge management required to democratize BI report development, while maintaining a library of standard data sources and a formal governance of report creation.
Inter-System Integration:
- Ensure seamless communication and data transfer between systems through effective integration solutions such as point-to-point, hub, API, and EDI technologies.
- Assess current system and data integration, develop a plan for accelerating the integration capability across the enterprise
- Lead the implementation of the plan including rationalized and consistent integration tools and technologies along with current and future state integration of key data assets throughout entire data lifecycle
Data Governance:
- Implement, own, and oversee enterprise-wide information architecture, data governance & quality
- Establish processes and systems to understand information readiness identify improvement opportunities
- Establish and enforce master data governance standards and manage Master Data Management (MDM) systems.
- Develop and coordinate data strategies, standardization of reference data, and ensure overall data quality and compliance.
Solution Lifecycle Management:
- Ensure systems and applications are current, functional, and competitive by overseeing their creation, maintenance, enhancement, compliance, security, and eventual sunset.
- Identify and perform continuous application landscape management.
- Ensure auditable execution of security and compliance policies for owned applications.
- Lead the software development lifecycle, implementing best practices to deliver high-quality software solutions efficiently and effectively.
- Enforce rigorous application security and compliance standards across all solutions.
Vendor Management:
- Manage third-party vendors to ensure they meet standards and commitments and contribute effectively to solutions and initiatives.
Leadership:
- Build and lead a team capable of achieving the strategy, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Key education or certification, experience required:
- A Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field. Masters preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience in a technology leadership role, with a proven track record in product management, SDLC management, and leading technical and BA teams, particularly related to data management, analytics, and systems integration.
