About the Position
The Senior Director, Operations-Regional, is responsible for the financial and operational success of all assigned practices in the assigned geographic, specialty or other defined group.
The Senior Director ensures the direction and implementation of operating policies and initiatives within the assigned group and is accountable to the Vice President of Operations.
The Senior Director oversees and leads Site Directors in developing and implementing site-specific action plans, budgets and tactics for assigned practices. They also supervise Clinic Directors and Operations Managers, as applicable, including coaching, guiding, and assisting them in managing the operations of their assigned practice locations.
The Senior Director, will spend designated time in the practice locations he/she throughout the workweek to support the work and operations of the clinic and ensure continuity of standards and procedures and the success of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees operations and service delivery of all practice sites within assigned clinics. The clinic operational leadership (Site Director and/or Operations Managers) report to the Regional Director, Operations.
- Works with clinics to interview and hire Site Directors and other clinic leaders, and ensures onboarding plans are completed and documented for each new hire. Directly supervises and establishes accountabilities, provides performance feedback and conducts annual performance evaluations for direct reports, with input from relevant leadership teams. Provides counsel to direct reports in disciplinary matters with assistance from HR for disciplinary actions and/or terminations
- In collaboration with Site Director, ensures success of physician and mid-level providers in the assigned practices. Collaborates with physicians to support their ability to establish a successful practice.
- Confirms project deadlines and performance goals are met for the clinics in his/her region.
- Confirms that staff contributing to all areas of clinic performance (patient care, patient experience, quality, operational performance, financial performance, training and education) adhering to policies and procedures
- Confirms that all clinics in his/her region comply with operational procedures and regulatory compliance.

Requirements
- Bachelors in business, healthcare or related discipline is required
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience managing a clinic’s practice operations.
- Master’s degree, MHA, MBA or equivalent preferred
- A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven team-oriented environment.
- Intimate knowledge of the day-to-day operations of an outpatient clinical practice operations and a clear understanding of the healthcare delivery system
- Financial and analytical expertise in budget development, physician practice productivity, productivity standards, revenue cycle management, provider relations, scheduling and referral tracking management and all other aspects relating to the management of a dynamic and growing practice.
