Our client is a solid and growing IT solutions provider that specializes in IT solutions for the healthcare industry. The Role
Our client is looking to hire a senior level network engineer to work with their largest client on their complex global networking requirements. The engineer will have a dynamic and consultative role focused on architecting/designing global network infrastructures that is scalable and resilient. S/he will also help to implement the architected solutions, and support/maintain the global networks when complex issues arise. The ideal individual will have strong skills in routing protocols, advanced switching, data center and cloud networking, and network security.
Responsibilities will include:
- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level routing and switching solutions to meet client requirements.
- Design, architect, troubleshoot, and implement scalable networks, considering fault tolerance, redundancy, and performance optimization.
- Configure and optimize routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP to ensure efficient traffic routing and network convergence.
- Implement switching technologies such as VLANs, VTP, EtherChannel, and Spanning Tree Protocols (STP).
- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize firewall policies, including application-based rules, URL filtering, and threat prevention.
- Troubleshoot complex network and security issues, identify root causes, and implement timely resolutions to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
- Consult with clients to operate and optimize network and network security
- Develop and maintain documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures documents. Coach and mentor junior engineers.
Must have for this role are:
- 5+ years’ experience in designing and implementing network architectures for enterprise-scale environments.
- Proficiency in network protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VTP, MPLS, VPNs)
- Experience in data center networking (Nexus), Cisco UCS, and network security (ASA, firewalls). Any experience or exposure to storage environments is a plus (e.g., Pure Storage) -- however, is not required.
- Excellent communication skills and teaming skills.
- Hybrid role with one or two days per week onsite
- Preferred certifications: CCNP or CCIE.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
