Job Details
What You’ll Do:
As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will assist in the development of the annual operating budget and monitor government and privately funded programs to ensure fiscal contract compliance. Additionally, this position will be performing the accounting and finance functions for assigned government grants, serving as the lead fiscal liaison for Early Childhood Education programs.
Responsibilities:
Submit month-end billing summaries to government and private funding sources
Assist with month-end close; this includes allocation of expenditures to contracts, reconciling grants receivables, and updating revenue and expense roll forward procedures
Prepare adjusting journal entries to general ledger
Assist with preparation of agency annual operating budget and forecast
Develop financial reports and/or financial dashboards
Assist with budgets for grant proposals and refunding applications
Monitor grant budgets and prepare modifications, as needed
Prepare expenditure reports due to government agencies and foundations
Create program analysis reports
Present to leadership, staff, and external stakeholders regarding programmatic performance and trends
Periodically review back documents for invoices submitted to the funders to ensure all controls are in place to be free of audit findings
Provide census reports to various funders
About You:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
5+ years relevant experience required
Experience with LA County & State contracts highly desired
Contracts include, but are not limited to:
LACOE, CDE, CDSS
Knowledge of general ledger transactions and account reconciliation required
Extensive budgeting experience required
Proficient computer skills required
Experience in MIP Abila Financial Software highly preferred
Experience working with non-profit organizations preferred
