Embedded Firmware Engineer at Kohler Ventures you willWork directly with the Head of Software, software engineering team, and product teamsDesign firmware architecture that can scale with the business growth of Kohler VenturesBuild the forward-looking vision and lead the effort to understand and drive requirements with hardware/software teams.Coordinate with product development teams to execute rollout/adoption of common libraries, services, and patterns.Measurably improve code normalization across one or more critical code concerns throughout the codebaseSkills/RequirementsRequired Qualifications You hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.7+ years of professional software development experience with C/C++.5+ years of experience in software design and development for embedded systems.Hands-on experience developing firmware for IoT and/or medical devicesAbility to travel to South Korea for approximately 2 weeks/year.Availability and wiliness to work outside standard business hours to be able to collaborate with teams across multiple time zones.Preferred QualificationsStrong technical experience with OTA update servicesPrior experience working with Yocto or other embedded Linux environments.Experience in working with common protocols such as RS-485, RS-232, SPI, USB, BLE and WiFi.Expert knowledge of embedded Linux configuration, development, board support packages, bootloaders, kernel, drivers, and application development in C/C++#LI-NR1#LI-HybridWe will consider applicants requiring sponsorship for this opportunity.The
approved base salary range for this position is $114,500 - $160.000
The actual base salary offered to a
candidate may be higher than the approved range
This will vary depending on a variety of
factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work
location. This position is subject to
Area Salary Differential/Cost of Living Adjustment in the Bay area that ranges from 24.5%-30%
of base salary. The approved base salary range including ASD for this position is $148,850 - $208,000
In addition, this position is eligible for a performance
bonus and a special project incentive
