About the Job
•Monitor network, server and storage performance to ensure that applications are functioning correctly and effectively
•Manage day-to-day Microsoft Windows and VMWare ESX server administration tasks, including server deployments, storage management, and implementation of best practice security policies
•Perform hardware and software lifecycle activities such as firmware upgrades, patch deployment, and CVE remediation on appliances, storage, network devices, and application servers using tools like Solarwinds, SCCM, and other system management tools
•Install and configure Cisco routers & switches for internet connectivity and establishing the enterprise network
•Configure and maintain other network devices such as load balancers, VPN concentrators, and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
•Manage and configure user access to network resources; DNS records; IP addresses
•Provides technical support in the development, testing and operation of Palo Alto firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and web application firewalls
•Ensure peak infrastructure performance through ongoing performance and capacity monitoring
•Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues using various network and server monitoring tools and engage with cross-functional teams to leverage support and collaboration when necessary
•Collaborate with other teams to integrate network and system infrastructure with cloud
services, storage systems, and other IT components.
•Assist in DR Planning and Backup System planning
•Assist in scheduled network, system, and security infrastructure upgrades
•Assist in researching emerging threats, and presenting mitigation plans to stakeholders
•Install and configure network security software, firewalls, anti-malware, intrusion prevention, vulnerability scanning, and other protective measures
•Monitor, analyze, and respond to numerous suspicious security events, including server logs, security software logs, IPS, Firewall, IDS, and VPN
•Continuously evaluates and improves the infrastructure security posture around both system and network devices.
•Provides complex technical oversight and enforcement of security directives, standards, and procedures
•Create and maintain documentation related to network configurations, diagrams, processes, and troubleshooting
•Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, best practices, vulnerabilities, and make recommendations as appropriate
Project Specific Requirements
•Bachelor's degree in related field; additional experience would be considered in lieu of degree
•5 years of related experience
•Minimum 4 years' experience as a Network Administrator or comparable position
•Experience in designing and handling complex routing problems
•Experience in handling DHCP and other IP conflict problems
•Experience with installing, configuring, administrating Cisco and Palo Alto devices
•CCNA, Network+ or degree in networking required; CCNP preferred
•Expertise with Active Directory in a Windows networked environment
•Expert level of hardware support for HP servers and storage; Pure Storage experience a plus
•Strong experience with Windows Clusters for MS SQL Server, and MS Exchange.
•Experience with cloud services like Office 365, Azure, and AWS is a major plus.
•Experience with SCCM including packaging apps, scripts, and deployment of apps and images
•Backup software and procedural experience is required
•Strong understanding of Change Control and Incident Management
Job Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, troubleshooting and training tasks to ensure the LAN and WAN network performance meets company and user satisfaction.
- Responsible for watching and responding to corresponding alerts both visual and digital in a timely fashion and engaging additional resources as necessary to resolve any corresponding issues.
- Maintain multi-site network operations and software applications, operating systems and regular maintenance with both private and public facilities.
- Manage assigned delivery services in accordance with established objectives and run books.
- Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors and etc. to provide technical assistance and support.
- Administer the related enterprise systems and servers to ensure availability of services to authorized users.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions of enterprise hardware and software applications, telephones and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.
- Troubleshoot additional infrastructure components to include: server hardware, server OS (Windows or Open Source), load balancing, clustering, MS Exchange, MS SharePoint, virtualization, backup and recovery solutions, monitoring solutions, patching solutions and ITSM.
- Document issues and incidents for later use in a KB.
- Manage and maintain the infrastructure tool sets, including standard alerting, monitoring, and management tools.
- Provide mentoring leadership to other colleagues and peers as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant professional experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
