Our Sr. Press Room Set Up Tech/Lead leads a skilled team, optimize press setup processes, and applies their technical expertise to tackle complex challenges in metal fabrication. What you will get to do
- Maintain and set up all presses, wire operations, feeders, straighteners, benders and uncoilers and trouble-shoot problems.
- Perform all die tool set-ups and utilize experience to make all necessary adjustments.
- Ensure workers clean press beds, feeders, and oiling systems of all machines between die tool set-ups.
- Using extensive knowledge to perform, or support machine operators and technicians as they perform, all production tasks to ensure efficiency and acceptable quality within the operation.
- Coordinate job flow and assign daily work activities to machine operators and technicians with guidance from the supervisor or manager.
- Serve as a lead by onboarding, training, and coaching machine operators and technicians in a positive, encouraging, and professional manner.
- Encourage employees' performance improvement by using positive reinforcement.
- Foster team cooperation and a positive work environment.
- Routinely perform visual quality inspection of all product throughout each run.
- Take corrective action and Report findings or issues including damage or needed repairs to dies and/or machines to Die Maintenance Technician, supervisor and manager immediately.
- Check production process sheets of team members for accuracy and sign off for all downtime issues with a written explanation for the downtime and submit to supervisor and manager for verification and approval.
- Understands, and utilizes expert-level knowledge for all oils and lubricants used by the department. Trains others as required.

What you will bring to the role
- High School diploma or GED preferred; equivalent experience suffice
- Mechanical aptitude.
- 5+ years experience and knowledge of full and partial revolution punch presses and ability to perform set-up of all die tooling presses required
- Minimum of five years' experience working in manufacturing environment required
- Proven leadership, team-building, organizational skills and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
- Ability to read, interpret write English proficiently. Bilingual ability in Spanish preferred
- Desire to continue education and skill development for future potential advancement at Nordic Ware
- Expert knowledge of company quality standards
- Nordic Ware Forklift training and certification required
- Expert level ability to read blueprints, process sheets, and required measurement devices including, but not limited to micrometers and height gauges. Includes an ability to teach others
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques require
