Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Responsible for the technology design and definition of software solutions. - Work with Maximus systems and operations staff to design cost-effective integrated technology solutions comprised of both in house and commercial off-the-shelf products. - Act as lead technical representative and spokesperson supporting pre-marketing and proposal activities. - Drive the decision-making for technical decisions in conjunction with systems technical staff. - Document technical strategies to facilitate operational business needs. - Review federal, state, and company policies to determine applicability to systems functionality, design, and operation. - Develop strategies to fulfill requirements and assess effectiveness of implementation. - Collaborate and coordinate with appropriate internal and external groups to ensure the confidentiality and security of all corporate information. Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in related field required. - 12-15 years of relevant professional experience required.

We are looking for a Sr. Principal Technical Solutions Architect with extensive experience architecting, developing, and implementing enterprise applications and innovative custom end-to-end solutions. The Ideal candidate will have a wide range of experience architecting and developing solutions on Java, AWS Cloud, and a variety of open-source technology platforms across N-tier architectures. The individual will have experience to operate independently and demonstrate experience leading/guiding a team to architect, develop, and implement business applications. The individual will have experience in developing solution proposals in response to RFP, RFI, etc., and be able to lead tech sales demonstrations. The candidate will lead a process that serves as a connection between technical architecture and enterprise architecture with end-to-end to security and compliance thinking.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and engage with cross-functional teams to understand and architect scalable and sustainable technical solutions, facilitate end-to-end solution architecture composed of various technologies, and provide solution guidance during implementations as needed.
- Participate in the requirements gathering sessions to understand business needs and provide/gather inputs to the technical requirements.
- Review, guide, and support RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs, response development including writing or preparing whitepapers and concept development.
- Lead and provide technical solution support during proposal process, to include technology stack, solution architecture, and implementation methodology. Build and enhance standard templates.
- Develop and provide presentations and demonstrations of technology solutions to both internal and external stakeholders as needed. The candidate must be comfortable presenting technical solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
- Design and develop specific solutions leveraging technologies and design practices that enable a secure, scalable, sustainable, extensible, and flexible solution.
- Contribute to the design and architecture of software and infrastructure to ensure projects meet goals and should be able to clearly articulate and present the implications of design/architectural decisions, issues, and plans to leadership.
- Review the solution in the implementation and post deployment phases, to validate that the final solution matches the original approved design and architecture.
- Work with engineering team to integrate approved solutions into the existing infrastructure and proactively identify associated potential risks and pitfalls involved, translate technical needs, and remove technical barriers.
- Responsible for recommending and developing technical architectures, tools and processes that support the automation of environment management, build, testing, deployment, and support processes.
- Assist with builds and design of high-level architecture documentation and roadmap.
- Collaborate with other teams in the organization to define supporting infrastructure and software tools needed to enable good technical practices in a large-scale environment.
- Develop reusable patterns and encourage innovation that will enable team velocity. - Learn and analyze new technologies and industry best practices to identify suitability for adoption by the organization.
- Responsible for ensuring end-to-end security architecture design for the proposed or recommended solutions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree required in the field of computer science or equivalent. Masters degree a plus.
- The candidate must have 12 - 19 years of experience designing, architecting, & implementing n-tier enterprise solutions with working knowledge across numerous technology platforms.
- The candidate must have over 10 years of experience in J2EE, with a strong focus on the Spring Boot framework; J2EE; .NET framework experience is a big plus. - The candidate must have over 10 years in open-source technology-based development.
- The candidate must have over 5 years in full-stack development experience.
- Ability to architect complex, multi-pronged end-to-end technical solutions. - Experience across many of the following areas is desired: N-Tier applications, Distributed Computing, eCommerce, SaaS, PaaS, DevOps, Agile development, Databases & Storage. - Exposure or experience in any of these technologies is a big plus: Data Analytics, Robotic Process Animation (RPA), Low-Code, Messaging (Chat, SMS, email), Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and AR/VR. - Strong working knowledge of Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Software Design Patterns & Cloud Software Architecture; AWS experience required; Azure experience a big plus. - Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. - Exercises independent judgement in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted advisor relationships with clients.
- Experience supporting sales, pre-sales, and business development is a key requirement. - Individual contributor who oversees large, technically complex projects.
- Knowledgeable of emerging trends and best practices within discipline. - Experience with security and audit standards such as SOC2 and ISO 27001. FedRAMP is a big plus.
- Mix of consulting and operations experience/background preferred.
- Great verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards.
