Sr Project Engineering Manager
My client, located in Burlington, Iowa, is looking for a Sr Project Engineering Manager to join its team. The Sr Project Manager will oversee the development, planning, and execution of on-site capital projects, ensuring successful navigation through a stage-gate process from start to finish. This role demands a strong grasp of project management principles to maintain project scope, budget, and schedule throughout the lifecycle. The Senior Project Manager will collaborate with external engineering firms to deliver precise, constructible designs aligned with organizational standards and specifications. Serving as the primary liaison with engineering firms and construction contractors, this position will manage large-scale capital projects related to production, maintenance, growth, regulatory compliance, and environmental concerns. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering required, with a preference for Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- PMP and/or PE certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Over 10 years of experience in industrial project engineering and project management.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and review engineering proposals, drawings, specifications, and contractor bid packages.
- Lead project review sessions with internal and external engineering and construction teams.
- Provide prompt feedback to external entities on project-related information including equipment specs, drawings, site standards, templates, photographs, and dimensions.
- Initiate and manage capital project tasks from inception to execution in accordance with organizational guidelines, ensuring proper documentation.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all project communications and regularly update stakeholders on project status through oral and written reports.
- Ensure all assigned projects are completed on time and within budget, with equipment performing as expected to meet production targets.
- Monitor construction progress to reduce change orders and ensure adherence to project scope.
- Assemble and provide project Operation and Maintenance (O&M) documentation.
- Demonstrate high technical competence and reliability.
- Contribute to efforts aimed at enhancing plant reliability, profitability, and modernization.
- Promote and adhere to safe and environmentally responsible practices.
- Follow all organizational policies and procedures.
