The Role
AXS is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys and thrives in working with a variety of tools, languages, and architectures while building features and applications for our core ticketing systems. You will work on B2B applications that can scale and handle high demand, as well as complex enterprise systems that meet our global needs.
What You’ll Do
- Design and build new features and enhancements for our global B2B ticketing platform.
- Develop, test, and maintain high-quality code using React, Redux, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, SQL on AWS.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and designers, to create seamless and interactive web applications.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and deliver pixel-perfect CSS implementations.
- Implement best practices in coding, testing, and performance optimization.
- Debug and troubleshoot complex issues across various environments and devices.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with team members.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in software development and AWS services.
What to Bring
- BS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant software development experience within a professional environment.
- Understanding of the software development life cycle and agile principles.
- Solid technical foundation (patterns, databases, API, SPA).
- Knowledge of HTTP protocols and RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Redux.
- Strong understanding of HTML5 and CSS3 (ability to translate Figma designs to pixel-perfect implementations).
- Proficiency with front-end tools, particularly Webpack, Yarn, and npm.
- Experience with Node.js/Express and its ecosystems.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or similar.
- Experience defining, developing, and maintaining REST-based interfaces.
- Strong experience with Git/GitHub and Gitflow.
- Experience with testing frameworks and tools, especially Jest.
- Understanding of cloud environments and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with AWS services (e.g., ECS, S3, CloudFront, CodeBuild, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proactively takes initiative, maintains focus, and demonstrates consistent accountability.
- Proven record of learning new skills and technologies quickly with minimal guidance.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Bonus points if you have
- Experience building and deploying reusable JS modules and micro front ends.
- Experience building mobile and responsive UIs.
- Experience with TDD and/or BDD.
- Experience in the ticketing industry, inventory management systems, or e-commerce.
- Experience using NoSQL databases (ElasticSearch, DynamoDB, Redis, MongoDB, etc.).
Pay Scale: $116,942.00 - $140,000
