We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Permanent Sr. Tax Manager with a focus on Private Equity. This is a unique opportunity to join our dynamic and growing team in the Finance industry. The individual will play a pivotal role in managing tax-related matters for the company's private equity portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the oilfield service, buy and sell side, or equivalent.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all tax-related matters for the company's private equity portfolio.
2. Provide tax structuring advice for potential investments and divestitures.
3. Manage the preparation and review of tax returns, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and international tax laws.
4. Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize cash flow.
5. Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to manage tax audits and inquiries.
6. Monitor and analyze proposed and newly enacted tax legislation and regulations, assessing the potential impact on the company's private equity portfolio.
7. Provide tax-related training and support to internal teams, fostering a culture of tax awareness and compliance.
8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including investors, portfolio companies, and tax authorities.
9. Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree (MST, JD, or LLM) or CPA certification is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management, with a focus on private equity. Experience in the oilfield service, buy and sell side, or equivalent is required.
3. In-depth knowledge of state, federal, and international tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax legislation and regulations.
5. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
6. Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of developing and mentoring high-performing teams.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
8. High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical conduct and compliance.
9. Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
