Vaco is hiring for a Staff Accountant opportunity in Shaker Heights OH. This is a direct hire position that is onsite.
Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in managing fixed asset accounting and supporting bank funding activities. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the fixed asset accounting process, including asset acquisition, depreciation, and disposals.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and ensure accurate and timely reporting in compliance with company policies.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements related to fixed assets.
- Support bank funding operations by preparing necessary documentation, tracking funding requests, and coordinating with financial institutions.
- Reconcile bank accounts and resolve discrepancies as they arise.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Provide support for audits, both internal and external, related to fixed assets and bank funding.
- Stay informed on accounting standards and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a focus on fixed assets and bank funding.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles related to fixed asset management.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
