Job Title: Staff Accountant
Reports to: Controller
Location: Frisco, Texas (hybrid)
Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing and performing general accounting functions, including the preparation of journal entries, maintenance of balance sheet schedules, and account reconciliations. The role also includes assisting with monthly closings, account analysis, and supporting the senior accounting staff in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department.

Job Title: Staff Accountant
Reports to: Controller
Location: Frisco, Texas (hybrid)
Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing and performing general accounting functions, including the preparation of journal entries, maintenance of balance sheet schedules, and account reconciliations. The role also includes assisting with monthly closings, account analysis, and supporting the senior accounting staff in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Management: Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, prepaid expenses, and other assets.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.
- Month-End Close: Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Assist with processing AP/AR transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
- Audit Support: Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and respond to audit inquiries as required.
- Budgeting: Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing accurate financial data and analysis.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal controls.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement within the accounting processes and make recommendations for changes.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide detailed financial analysis and reports as needed by management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel; MUST have experience in NetSuite.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Certifications (Optional): CPA or working towards CPA designation is a plus.
