Job Summary
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for modeling and promoting Sendik’s culture by supporting those who consistently provide “best in class” service to our guests. The main responsibility of the Staff Accountant is to ensure accounting records are accurate, timely and create a positive impact on the company through the use of financial information.

Work Experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve customers, associates, vendors and partners while modeling Sendik’s culture and providing “best in class” customer service
- Execute the Month End Close Procedures, including, but not limited to, bank and general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries and reporting
- Analyze fluctuations in financial activity
- Analyze and post revenue transactions on a weekly basis
- Assist with preparing store physical inventories, including documents, emails, reviewing inventory and store visits, as needed
- Assist with annual audit procedures
- Maintain financial records and reports
- Update documentation on current processes, as needed
- Adopt a continuous improvement mindset and proactively seek ways to improve upon existing department procedures and processes
- Assist with other projects, as assigned
- Assist in the stores during peak holiday seasons, as needed
- Assist customers with payment issues as they arise
Qualifications:
- achelor’s Degree in Accounting
- CPA or pursuing CPA designation, strongly preferred
- Proficient in computer programs such as Word, Excel, Google Docs
- Proficiency in accounting software desirable
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong sense of security and ability to handle sensitive information
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong sense of team – ability to anticipate the needs of the team
- Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs
