Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

General Skills and Description:
High school or equivalent education required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Payroll experience preferred.
Accounts payable experience required.
2-3 years hotel accounting experience preferred.

Physical Demands:
Indoor temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.
Must be able to sit/stand at a desk for up to 7 hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed.

Responsibilities:
The Staff Accountant will perform a variety of accounting administrative duties that will include but are not limited to accounts payable, payroll processing, daily sales recording, accounts receivable and day-to-day administrative tasks.
Payroll
Compiles payroll data such as hours worked and enters data or computes and posts wages, reconciliation of errors, maintains payroll records. Ensures tips, porterage and commissions are accounted for as well as taxes, benefits and any other deductions to be withheld.
• Process bi-weekly payroll every other Tuesday to ensure proper pay to associates.
• Follow up with Managers regarding discrepancies with timecards and/or schedules.
• Enters manual data into computer files when necessary such as hours worked, tips, vacation, sick, holiday pay etc. and posts to payroll records.
• Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
• Records changes affecting net wages, such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records. Tracking all Gift Card distribution for associates and inputting into Paylocity for tax purposes.
• May keep records of leave pay and nontaxable wages. May prepare and issue paychecks.
• May prepare periodic reports of earnings, labor hours, taxes, and deductions. Prepare specific reports for department heads.
• Confirms data & pay concerning transfer of employees (additional jobs) between departments is accurate.
Night Audit
• Sort and verify accuracy of Night Audit work, including credit card reconciliation, cash reconciliation, F&B room charge and Banquet charge reconciliation
• Resolve any discrepancies occurred during Night Audit
• Verify 85% bonus revenue posting
Accounts Receivable
• Award reimbursement – verify award reimbursement reporting and submit to Marriott
• City ledger management – monitor and reconcile City Ledger daily, bill Direct Bill accounts and collect
• Maintain Group Client’s deposit schedule; responsible for deposit and final payment collection
• Validates commission data in CTAC
Accounts Payable
• Prepare and maintain departmental Checkbooks
• Invoice cycle management - Date, code and distribute invoices; record invoices for payment, file/archive;
• Reconcile company credit card statements,
• Key vendor account reconciliation
General Accounting support
• Prepare daily revenue report
• Submit STR statistics
• Respond to and resolve guest billing disputes
• Respond to and resolve credit card disputes
• Audit cash banks, assist with petty cash and provides change
• General ledger account reconciliation assistance
• Credit card reconciliation
• Miscellaneous as needed
