This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a solid background in accounting who is eager to contribute to the financial health and success of our company. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of accounting tasks, with a strong focus on general ledger management. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
As a Staff Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Managing all aspects of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with both internal policies and external regulations.
2. Preparing and posting journal entries, including adjustments and accruals, to accurately reflect the company's financial position.
3. Reconciling balance sheet accounts on a timely basis, resolving any discrepancies promptly and accurately.
4. Assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing detailed analysis and explanations of significant variances.
5. Supporting the budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and reporting.
6. Assisting with internal and external audits, providing all necessary documentation and information as requested.
7. Collaborating with other members of the Accounting and Finance team to improve financial processes and systems, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
8. Keeping up-to-date with the latest accounting standards and regulations, ensuring the company's financial practices remain compliant.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Permanent Staff Accountant role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, with a strong focus on general ledger management.
3. Proficiency in accounting software, such as MRI or Yardi desired but not required, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
4. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
5. Excellent analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
6. Ability to work independently, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
9. Demonstrated integrity and confidentiality, with a strong commitment to ethical practices.
