NV5, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven Staff Civil Engineer in our Ventura, CA office. The Ventura office provides consulting engineering services which include, conventional geotechnical services and construction materials testing services, as well as, advanced geotechnical engineering for hillside design, retaining structures, bridges, seismic analyses, and forensic geotechnical engineering. Our client base is in both the commercial and public sectors.
Responsibilities:- Perform geotechnical exploration including soils borings, concrete and asphalt evaluations for various geotechnical studies.
- Perform field observation and testing on grading and construction projects, including field density testing and concrete sampling and testing.
- Assist in geotechnical report preparation including exploration logs, geotechnical analyses including slope stability, liquefaction, settlement, etc., and report writing.
- Perform miscellaneous field, office and laboratory duties in support of geotechnical studies and construction materials testing projects.
- Ideal candidates will have experience with public works and transportation projects.
- BS in Civil Engineer (MS preferred)
- Emphasis on geotechnical engineering strongly preferred.
- 0-3 yrs professional experience preferred.
Certifications/Licenses:
- EIT preferred
- LA Deputy Grading Inspector preferred.
- Nuclear Gauge certification preferred.
- ACI Concrete Technician preferred.
The pay range for this California position is $85,000- $100,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
