Position Summary
Our Cedar Rapids design center is seeking engineering talent with expertise in RF/microwave, RFIC design, and PA product development. You will be part of a multi-discipline team developing PA, RF switches, front-end modules for the high volume and fast paced cellular handset market. You will have opportunities to participate in all phases of product development, including product definition, architecture, system, transistor-level circuit design, MCM design, layout/layout supervision, lab debug and production support.

Job Responsibilities
- Direct involvement in development of advanced cellular RF Front End Module (FEM) design and evaluation
- Own and lead lab experiments to identify root cause of RF/Functionality related FEM performance issues
- Work closely with a team of EM Design Engineers, Lab Technicians, Verification Engineers, Test Engineers and Package Engineers to tackle complex cellular RF front end problems
- Prepare prototype build/assembly documentations such as Bill of Material (BOM), configuration matrices etc. for prototype build
- Implement lab test and summarize/analysis lab result of RF Front end module
- Present lab result, root cause analysis to broader audience and drive for best possible performance of RF Front End Module
Qualifications
- MSEE degree + 6 years experience or PhD
- Solid understanding of RF concepts such as impedance matching, impedance transformation, transmission line, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, bandwidth, power gain, isolation and stability
- Solid circuit simulation skills utilizing Agilent ADS or AWR and 2.5/3D EM tools such as Momentum, Sonnet or HFSS
- Exposure to RF power test equipment such as VNA, RF Signal Generator, PSA etc.
- A self-starter and team player with strong desire to learn on the job
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Good communication skills
Preferred:
- Good understanding of RF systems and familiarity with wireless standards including 3GPP cellular 2/3/4/5G/LTE, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth
- Solid understanding of device and process technologies
- Exposure to system architecture, circuit topology and multi technology circuit floorplan
- Good understanding on acoustic filter such as SAW, BAW filters.
- Familiar with lab instruments including Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, RF Probe Stations, Noise Figure Analyzers and Load-pull Tuners
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $112,500 - $215,900 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
