Staff Software Engineer - DispatchHealth Management

As a Staff Software Engineer at DispatchHealth, you'll be a key technical leader driving our mission to revolutionize in-home healthcare. Your expertise will directly contribute to improving patient care and expanding access to quality healthcare in the comfort of people's homes.

Comp Band: $150-180K

• Architect and lead the implementation of core platform services that enable high-quality medical care in patients' homes
• Work cross collaboratively with product managers and designers to understand and solve product gaps, formulate technical strategy, and enhance the technology platform
• Drive engineering-wide changes to improve existing processes, infrastructure, architecture, developer happiness, by thinking broadly about opportunities to level-up
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability and provide actionable feedback that helps grow skill and knowledge in other engineers
• Collaborate with cross functional engineering teams on new and emerging technologies, determining how they will integrate into current and evolving infrastructure
• Proven ability to lead complex projects from design through execution to delivery
• Be part of an inclusive, collaborative team that embraces healthy discussions and supports each other in their goals

• 10+ years of experience in software development building applications and services
• Minimum 2 years in a technical leadership role
• Proven track record of making impactful architectural decisions that deliver value
• Experience leading technical projects across technologies and building for long-term maintenance
• Influential at cross-functional decision making aligned with product, data, and design
• Expertise in at least one language and proficiency in multiple languages (we use Typescript, Golang, Ruby, Python)
• Strong command software design patterns, API design, and performance optimization
• Expertise in designing and optimizing data models and database schemas for high-volume systems
• Experience building high-availability, fault-tolerant systems with containerization and orchestration (we use K8s on EKS)
• Proficiency in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (we use Github Actions and ArgoCD)
• Passion for the DispatchHealth mission to improve patient’s lives in their homes

Standout Qualities:

• Experience with healthcare-specific technologies (e.g., HL7, FHIR, HIPAA compliance)
• Understanding of healthcare workflows and regulations

About DispatchHealth, Professional Portable X-Ray (PPX), and Dynamic Mobile Imaging (DMI) DispatchHealth is building the world’s largest in-home care system to deliver trusted and compassionate care to all. Acute Care medical teams are available seven days a week, evenings, and holidays and can be requested online or a quick phone call. DMI and PPX radiologic technologists travel locally to diagnose patients in their own homes or at a facility. As the premiere provider of portable digital x-rays, ultrasounds, EKGs, holter monitors, echocardiograms, and dopplers we pride ourselves on having superior digital technology which allow for expedited care.
