About ALAC at CELS At the University of Florida Center for Experiential Learning and Simulation (UFCELS), our mission is to provide experiential training that enhances the clinical expertise, competence, and teamwork skills of healthcare students and professionals. Our primary goal is to support high-quality patient care, ensure safety, and drive advancements in healthcare. We strive to elevate healthcare standards in Florida, the nation, and the world through excellence in healthcare simulation, combining training, innovation, and discovery. CELS is comprised of The UF Health Shands Experiential Learning Center and the Anaclerio Learning and Assessment Center (ALAC). The Anaclerio Learning and Assessment Center was established through the generosity and commitment of Dr. Angelo Anaclerio and his wife, Alberta, in honor of Dr. Anaclerio's 50th anniversary of graduating from the UF College of Medicine. Our state-of-the-art facility fosters collaborative and team-based learning, enabling students to apply their skills in providing safe, effective, and compassionate patient care. We offer 18 patient examination rooms equipped with cameras, write-up stations, and consultation areas, as well as two hospital rooms identical to those at UF Health Shands Hospital. Additionally, our technical command center supports video recording and remote assessment.
