Join our client as a Sterile Processing Technician in Lakewood, NJ, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of surgical procedures by processing, sterilizing, and preparing medical equipment. This temporary role also includes responsibilities as a case cart attendant for the operating room.
Compensation: $30 - $33/hour
Location: Lakewood, NJ
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM or 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Responsibilities as the Sterile Processing Technician:
Join our client as a Sterile Processing Technician in Lakewood, NJ, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of surgical procedures by processing, sterilizing, and preparing medical equipment. This temporary role also includes responsibilities as a case cart attendant for the operating room.

Responsibilities as the Sterile Processing Technician:
- Sterilization: Clean, process, and sterilize surgical instruments and patient care equipment according to established protocols.
- Operations: Operate various sterilizers (Steam, ETO, Sterrad, Steris), conduct biological tests, and complete sterilization records accurately.
- Chemical Handling: Understand the proper use of detergents, disinfectants, and personal protective equipment (PPE) for processing items.
- Preparation: Assemble case carts for the Operating Room using doctors' preference sheets, ensuring all required instruments and supplies are included.
- Quality Assurance: Adhere to sterilization standards, perform quality checks, and notify the nursing team of any missing items or equipment shortages.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records for processed items, chemical integrator results, and sterilization cycle documentation.
- Education: High school diploma required.
- Certification: CRCST or CBSPDT certification required.
- Experience: Completion of a Central Processing Course or 1 year of experience in instrument processing.
- Skills: Knowledge of sterilization techniques, equipment operation, and quality control procedures.
