Responsibilities:- Accurately assembles trays, single instruments, and other items in accordance with manufacturer instructions and departmental policies. Inspects instrumentation and equipment to ensure cleanliness, sharpness, and in good working order.
- Monitors biological and chemical testing and records results. Follows up on positive biological.
- Accurately disassembles, sorts, soaks, and decontaminates instruments/equipment to prepare for terminal sterilization following established procedures.
- Picks and wands instrumentation/equipment needed for surgical cases and assembles case carts on a routine and emergent basis. Prioritizes cases to ensure no procedure delays occur.
- Checks in and wands unused supplies for completed cases and ensures charges are generated and all necessary paperwork is completed.
- Receives and dispatches phone calls from the Operating Room(s) and greets and directs persons with inquiries.
Education:High school education or equivalent
Licensure:Central Service Technician Certificate or may obtain this certification within 2 years of employment.
Experience:Prefer experience in Medical field
Skills:Computer abilities, communication skills, reading skills, cognitive skills
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to relate well with staff, patients, and visitors. Maintains confidentiality
Physical Effort: Medium-Ability to move up to 50 pounds.
Hours of Work: Variable day, evening, night shift. Rotating weekends and holidays.
