Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Pipe Welder/Fitter to join our team on the 1st shift with a flexible start time of 6, 7, or 8 AM. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and capable of working independently under an old-school manager. A one-year certificate from a college or technical school, or related experience and training, is required. Candidates should have a 6G certification from prior employment and 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. The candidate must have the ability to read blueprints, use simple math skills, and read a tape measure. Teamwork, the ability to pass a drug test, and knowledge of GMAW STT process and SMAW 6010 downhill welding are essential.
Responsibilities
+ Read and understand blueprints prior to starting a project.
+ Measure and cut materials to specifications.
+ Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
+ Examine welds for bead size and other specifications.
+ Clean weld joints or workpieces.
+ Operate overhead cranes.
+ Rig workpieces.
+ Cut pipe to length using an oxy-fuel torch or saw.
+ Operate a mechanical beveler.
+ Layout and weld pipe together by a combination of, or by single process using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, or GTAW to specified weld procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with x-ray welding.
+ Experience with UT work.
+ EX rated.
