About the role:
The corporate strategy team is responsible for leading Alcoa’s annual strategic planning process, implementing key strategic initiatives, contributing to business development activities (mergers, acquisitions, JV formation, and divestitures), and supporting strategic problem solving across the businesses. To complete its mission, the corporate strategy team collaborates closely with business and functional teams across Alcoa.
The Strategy Manager has responsibility for conducting strategic analyses in support of Alcoa’s overall strategy and business priorities.
Responsibilities:
Help Alcoa to keep vision, mission and strategy relevant.
Consider every angle of any important decision and breakdown its potential impact on the company.
Evaluate the practices and market behavior of industry competitors.
Support the company with market entry into a new market or with a shift towards a new business model.
Offer budgeting advice — Input on best practices to cut costs and drive revenue.
Support the strategic activities of the M&A process.
Drafting operating models and tying those with higher-level business objectives.
Assess economic attractiveness of breakthrough technologies and business model to implement.
What you can bring to the role:
University degree in business, economics, or engineering
Demonstrated experience within consulting and/or strategy, or similar role.
Experience within mining/metals industry and/or other heavy industry, such as manufacturing, oil & gas, chemicals, etc.
The ability to collect and analyze data, assess problems and structure solutions
Strong people skills with the ability to build relationships and be persuasive when necessary.
Strong time management and the ability to stick to tight deadlines.
Excellent project management skills.
Deep understanding of management frameworks.
Sound knowledge of financial analysis.

Base salary: $103,000 - $141,500 USD annually
Total rewards packages listed, including base salary and bonus eligibility, applies to US based applicants only. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on a range of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies in conjunction with multiple components of the Employee Total Rewards Package. Alcoa reserves the right to change plans at its discretion.
