A s an early-career engineer at KPFF, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and constructing diverse building projects across public and private sectors. What You'll Be Doing
- Engage in design and analysis tasks under the mentorship of experienced engineers, learning industry best practices and advancing your technical skills through hands-on projects and real-world applications.
- Contribute to creating structural design drawings and BIM models for new and existing buildings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards while bringing innovative ideas to the table.
- Collaborate with project teams, including owners, architects, and contractors, to ensure successful project delivery, fostering strong professional relationships and gaining valuable insights from different perspectives within the construction process.
- Demonstrate a solid commitment to excellence and innovative problem-solving in all aspects of the job, proactively identifying challenges and developing creative solutions to enhance project outcomes.
- Maintain clear and effective communication through well-organized verbal and written interactions, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
- Embrace the iterative design process and actively participate in integrating design and construction methodologies, continually refining and improving designs based on feedback and evolving project requirements.
- Work primarily in person, with a minimum expectation of four days per week in the San Francisco office. Engage directly with the team to collaborate, learn, and contribute to a dynamic and supportive work environment.
Who We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- EIT certification or actively pursuing.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information.
- Experience with Revit is a plus.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Highly developed technical and organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong self-motivation and a demonstrated passion for achieving professional excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ability to think critically and creatively, developing innovative structural solutions to complex problems.
- Proactive attitude toward teamwork and demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt, and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Duties are primarily conducted in a standard office setting, requiring prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer table.
- Occasionally, may be required to lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs.
- Occasionally visiting project locations and performing field inspections, which may involve walking, standing, kneeling, or navigating uneven terrain.

Compensation
The base salary for this role is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and skills. The expected base salary for a qualified candidate with up to three years of experience is $78,000 - $95,000 . Additionally, we offer performance-based bonuses to recognize and reward outstanding contributions in each Reporting Center.
