Job Summary
Responsible for cutting and joining mild or stainless steel, and other materials, and equipment operation for assembly of structures with precision.
Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Participate in all Safety Meeting
- Ability to pass the D1.1 Weld Test
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Follow and initiate 5S standards maintaining safe and clean work area.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on specifications.
- Layout, design and fabricate metal parts using numerous different tools, equipment, and techniques.
- Welding, cutting, fitting, bending and assembling of metal parts.
- Weld Components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety or quality.
- Complete pre-operation equipment inspections and reports All other duties assigned.
Experience, Education, & License Requirements
- HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1 to 2 years proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing environment. Meet all Structural Welder I Requirements and Skills.
Skills & Abilities
- Some knowledge of basic math and familiarity with fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read or learn to accurately read an engineer’s tape measure.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with tablet devices.
- Willingness to be trained on the safe operation of power and hand tools.
- Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Work and continuously walk outside in dusty environments.
- Ability to work independently. Willingness to work a varied schedule with flexible hours.
