ASRC Federal System Solutions supports the FAA NAS ESS (Federal Aviation Administration National Airspace System Engineering Support Services) contract. Join our growing team as a Student Trainee (Intern) in support of the FAA’s Air/Ground Communication Engineering Team.
Responsibilities:
* Debug and conduct testing on complex systems, including both hardware and software.
* Troubleshoot equipment failures, conduct testing of equipment and services.
* Generate documentation for troubleshooting and maintaining equipment and services.
* Review and provide feedback on program-related documents.
* Provide engineering consultations, investigations and documentation of findings (i.e. white papers, engineering study reports)
* Develop briefings and presentations.
* Create HDR/PTR/DOC data (Hardware Discrepancy Report/Program Trouble Report/Documentation update)
* Research, design, development, testing, evaluation and maintenance of integrated computer hardware and software systems in a highly secure industrial control system environment.
* Provide support utilizing languages such as LabVIEW, C, C++, Python and shell script.
* Flexibility between hardware and software projects
* Prepare documents, give presentations, or briefings as needed.
* Complete deliverables in a timely manner
* Ability to learn, adapt, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to follow technical documents and provide redlines.
US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required. All applicants must have resided in the United States for the past 3 years.
* Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science/Master of Science in Computer Engineering from an ABET accredited university with minimum 24 credit hours in Science, Math and Engineering.
* Engineering and software development skills.
* Proficiency in programming languages and scripts used in model and tool development (LabVIEW, C, C++, Python)
* Experience with PowerShell, Visual Basic, and/or Batch scripting.
* Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) and Electromagnetic Field (EMF) principles.
* Experience with use of source control such as Git.
* Ability to debug and conduct testing on complex systems, including both hardware and software.
* Experience with networking protocols and technologies including TCP, UDP, DHCP, SNMP, and VoIP.
* Experience with lab machinery, lab equipment, and soldering.
* Experience with signal generators, oscilloscopes, and test equipment.
* Solid background knowledge and skills in Computer/Electrical/Electronics Engineering discipline
* Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work on-site in OK City at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center full-time in the summers and part-time (16 to 20 hours per week) during the school year.
* Experience working in a team environment.
* Ability to pass an FAA background investigation.
