Professional Certification Requirement: Hawai`i is a member board of the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium/Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Inc. (IC&RC/AODA) and subscribes to the international standards prescribed by the IC&RC. Applicants must possess a valid Substance Abuse Counselor Certificate (CSAC) issued by the State of Hawai`i, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division. Applicants who do not possess a Hawai`i issued CSAC but are certified in states that subscribe to the international standards prescribed by the IC&RC and with the same credential as Hawai`i may also apply. If you are selected for a position, you will not be able to start employment until you receive a Hawai`i issued CSAC.
