TITLE: Substitute Cook/Cashier
APPROX. HOURS: 7:00 AM - 1:30 PM
JOB SUMMARY: To prepare and serve nutritious meals to students. The employee will frequently work in different areas of the kitchen and cafeteria performing their duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to fifty pounds.
- Required to frequently stand for prolonged periods, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and/or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently.
- Knowledge of cooking procedures, and equipment helpful.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Performs tasks assigned by the lead cook and food service director.
- Prepares food according to recipe using proper procedures.
- Operates equipment and performs work tasks in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Cleans and maintains school food service equipment and facilities.
- Serves food using proper sanitation.
- Maintains positive relations with students and staff in the serving line.
- Assists lead cook with record keeping and inventory.
- Makes suggestions for improving food quality or general operations of the school food service operation.
- Regular attendance
- Other duties as assigned.
