Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Concrete Superintendent to oversee large-scale concrete construction projects valued up to $80 million. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of concrete construction techniques, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex projects efficiently.
Responsibilities
**Project Management**
- Oversee all concrete construction activities on-site for projects up to $80 million in value[1][2].
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards[1][2].
- Develop and maintain project schedules, adjusting as necessary to meet deadlines[4].
- Monitor project budgets, control costs, and identify areas for cost savings[4].
**Team Leadership**
- Supervise and lead teams of concrete workers, subcontractors, and other personnel on job sites[4].
- Provide field training and mentorship to team members[2].
- Conduct weekly toolbox safety meetings and coordination meetings with worksite staff[2].
**Quality Control and Safety**
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, maintaining a safe work environment[1][4].
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets or exceeds standards[1][4].
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and other legal regulations[2].
**Communication and Coordination**
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders[1].
- Maintain open and effective communication with clients, addressing concerns and providing project updates[4].
- Schedule pump trucks, material, and equipment deliveries[2].
**Problem-Solving and Documentation**
- Identify and address issues or obstacles that may arise during construction[4].
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs and progress reports[1].
- Review and interpret contract documents, including drawings, specifications, and project schedules[2].
Requirements
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in concrete construction, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role[4][5].
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale concrete projects up to $80 million.
- Strong knowledge of concrete construction processes, techniques, and materials[4].
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills[1][4].
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, including MS Project and BlueBeam[2].
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications[4].
- OSHA certification[4].
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites[1].
