The Superintendent is responsible for managing the day-to-day running of each build to effectively construct homes in accordance with the budget and schedule. You will coordinate the new construction of production homes while promoting an outstanding, courteous and professional team environment with our team, customers, and trade partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Home Construction
- Conduct walks of all homes twice a day
- Schedule organize and direct the day to day construction of each home build schedule the trades and suppliers daily to ensure the jobs are ready for the trades when they show up
- Schedule and coordinate inspections with inspectors.
- Conduct community cleanliness inspections and maintain job sites free of trash and waste materials.
- Perform duties such as trash pickup, materials management, cleaning, painting, sweeping, and weed pulling.
- Manage construction quality and perform quality control inspections.
- Manage construction materials to prevent damage, waste, and theft.
- Walk completed homes before homeowner walk-throughs and closing sign-off to ensure homes are complete, clean, and meet quality standards.
- Work with city and county inspectors to pass all inspections
- Develop knowledge in building codes, construction materials, methodologies, terminology, and scheduling.
- Maintain positive relations with subcontractors and homeowners.
- Enforce site safety programs and ensure subcontractor compliance with safety codes and regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 4+ years in New Home Construction or related construction experience required.
- Proficient in using company applications on smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
- Proficiency with industry-standard email, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to resolve jobsite issues clearly and effectively.
- Strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
- A detail-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to learn MVH and industry skills and practices.
- Ability to work in a paperless environment.
- Deadline-driven with the ability to hold others accountable.
- Not afraid of confrontation.
- Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish).
- Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, crawl, lift/move up to 50 pounds, and perform manual tasks.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to drive among construction sites in both daytime and nighttime.
Compensation:
- Full-Time Position
- $70,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
