General Description
The successful candidate will report to the Project Manager and be responsible for all technical and on-site execution aspects of the project. This includes general on-site craft supervision, site project quality, site safety, and subcontractor coordination. The Site Superintendent will also maintain project expectations, site quality and safety reporting and procedures, daily reports, and task execution within the project scope, schedule, and budget. Ensuring conformance to project plans and specifications is crucial. Additionally, the role requires best business management practices and strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills. This position also provides construction safety and health leadership and oversight for regulatory compliance in support of the Bristol Health & Safety Program.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervises all construction activities.
- Coordinate work that is reflected in the schedule to meet timely deadlines.
- Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
- Build & maintain construction schedule, identifies and solves problems.
- Effectively collaborate and communicate with the Project Manager and site team to ensure all construction complies with plans and specifications. Maintain control over progress, scope, budget, potential changes, and overall project quality. Must be able to comprehend construction contract documents and details.
- Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout construction.
- Read & understand the project plans, & specifications.
- Act as technical professional for the estimating team.
- Lead the project team in planning and execution of project work plans and other project submittals and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, sub-contractors, suppliers, and other employees.
- Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
- Ensure all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy.
- Maintain an organized and clean job site, including the construction office.
- Coordinates with designated Quality Control representative to ensure Bristol and project standards are met.
- Minimize company exposure and project performance risks.
- Supervise subcontractor and vendor procurement, material buyout and logistics coordination, preparation of subcontract scoping documents and consent packages, and subcontractor selection following applicable FAR and project requirements as needed.
- Assist the Construction Project Manager in handling all quality-related matters with the Client.
- Prepare field reports, quantity tracking, applications for payment, and other project reporting documents as needed.
- Interface with all staff, regulatory agencies, clients, and customers to formulate corrective actions, as needed. Be the Bristol POC for any outside inspection or audit activity.
- Present training for all levels of employees, managers, and supervisors.
- Assess risk potential of work projects, equipment, processes, and activities.
- Participate in accident investigations and development of corrective actions.
- Conduct on-site reviews and audits of operations and projects.
- Investigate and evaluate new safety equipment for appropriateness.
- Respond and aid all emergency situations.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Skilled in Excel and Word, familiarity with commercial scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
- Ability to perform tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
- Knowledge of the estimating process.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and knowledge of USACE EM 385-1-1 contractor site-specific safety plan requirements.
- Knowledge of fall protections systems, electrical safety, permit-required confined spaces, excavation trenching and shoring, crane and rigging, scaffolding, demolition safety, hazard communication, accident investigation and reporting.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent on previous projects of similar size and complexity.
- OSHA 30 certification is required.
- Direct experience with and established relationships with Federal clients is required.
- Construction safety and health training covering the EM 385-1-1 Section 1.
- Experience with projects in ranging from $1MM to $30MM is required.
- Valid driver's license is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred experience in NAVFAC ECMS (electronic construction and facility support contract management system)

- Lifting: Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
