We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Superintendent to join our fast-paced construction team. This position plays an essential role in managing all on-site construction activities, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to the highest safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all site construction activities and supervising all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all stages of project life cycle management, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution to ensure work is done on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
2. Coordinate and supervise all construction activities, ensuring all phases of the project are following the project guidelines, specifications, and safety standards.
3. Liaise with contractors, managers, and other stakeholders, ensuring all parties stay informed about the project's progress and any changes.
4. Conduct quality control inspections to ensure adherence to project specifications, identify potential issues and implement corrective actions when necessary.
5. Implement safety policies and procedures on site, ensuring that they are adhered to by all staff and contractors.
6. Manage the day-to-day work of the construction team, setting performance expectations, providing feedback, and assisting in conflict resolution.
7. Prepare, schedule, and supervise the completion of a final punch list, ensuring all items are addressed and completed before the project is handed over.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record of successfully overseeing all phases of multi-million-dollar construction projects.
3. Strong knowledge of construction industry fundamentals, including equipment, safety protocols, and workforce management.
4. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
5. Proficiency in construction project management software.
6. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate project bottlenecks and implement effective solutions.
7. Ability to read and understand construction drawings, contracts, and specifications.
8. Proven record of managing projects while maintaining high safety standards and quality control.
9. Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
10. Certification in Construction Safety and Health (OSHA) or equivalent is a plus.
