Position Summary:
The Supervising Physician's role entails functioning as a collaborating and advising physician with nurse practitioners and physician assistants. The Supervising Physician will collaborate mostly asynchronously with their assigned mid-level providers to conduct patient chart audits per applicable regulations, delegate prescriptive authority, advise on best-practices as needed for challenging and complex cases, help solidify gaps in funds of medical knowledge, etc.. Furthermore, the physician must fulfill any federal/state-specific requirements as a collaborator (e.g., attendance in meetings, collaboration with the California Medical Board as needed, etc.).
Collaborate and supervise, educate, and direct an outstanding team of Advanced Wound Care Practice Mid-level Providers
Guides assigned mid-level providers on compliance mandates
Guides and assist assigned mid-level providers in policy review
Collaborate with other MD/DO and the organization's other clinical staff to ensure compliance.
Be available for messaging or phone consultations in a timely manner.
Collaborate with Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
Provide remote assistance, guidance, and answers to NP/PAs in their clinical practice.
Supervise and oversee the activities of PAs/NPs to ensure that tasks performed align with their scope of training and experience and in accordance with evidence-based guidelines
Conduct regular reviews of NP/PA charts, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The frequency of reviews may vary based on requirements or deficiencies
Schedule virtual meetings with NP/PA colleagues for collaboration, updates, and professional development.
- Doctor of Medicine, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant
- Current and valid board License/Certification from designated accredited medical board
