What You'll Do:
The Supervisor, Case Manager (non-licensed) oversees the work and supervision of assigned Social Services team(s). This position will have both leadership and direct care responsibilities and duties. Supervisor responsibilities (30%) include onboarding and training, scheduling, time-sheet and performance management of assigned staff. Direct care responsibilities (70%) include performing all regularly assigned Case Management duties. The Supervisor, Case Manager (non-licensed) actively collaborates with the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team to help coordinate care and discharge planning for patients, their family members, clinics, local providers, and/or other referral sources. This position partners with other members of the shift to ensure the unit runs safely and efficiently. This position oversees and helps facilitate admissions, discharge planning, obtaining collateral, and assisting in the legal process. They work with staff to train and redirect as needed to ensure quality care at all times.
- With support and guidance from supervisor and other clinical leadership they will direct, supervise, and evaluate administrative work of assigned Case Management staff.
- Participates in interview and selection of Case Management staff.
- Responsible for onboarding and training of new hires under their supervision, including completion of the 90-day Competency Checklists.
- Maintains adequate staffing of assigned team to ensure an accurate schedule and proper staff to patient ratios. Partners with Interdisciplinary Team as needed to ensure staffing is adjusted accordingly to meet business.
- Accurately assesses staffing needs and increases staffing as necessary during high census times or cover PTO and decreases staffing as needed during low census times. Limits overtime as much as possible through use of Pool staff.
- Reviews and manages assigned staff timesheets to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and company laws, policies, and guidelines.
- Responsible for oversight of department staff on assigned shift.
- Manages a caseload on Observation Unit by facilitating admission triages and implementing an individualized person-centered Treatment Plan that is appropriate for brief intervention. Completes the signed Treatment Plan and reviews with each patient and any other involved parties. Gathers collateral from the patient and involved parties to provide a more thorough assessment of what the immediate needs are for treatment and discharge.
- Monitor available community beds and the observation census.
- Provides daily shift reports to the Social Services Manager or Sr. Director.
- Actively coordinates care for patients to ensure services are coordinated with facility staff. Identify and address gaps in service needs for participating parties in service delivery to the individual and make appropriate recommendations to meet individuals’ needs upon discharge.
- Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team to engage, monitor, and communicate with the individual ensuring that safety is maintained while meeting the individual’s needs.
- Maintain the clinic record, including documentation of activities performed as part of the service delivery process. Obtain signatures from individual in crisis regarding treatment, as necessary. Document all services and patient activities in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) regarding brief interventions, coordination of care, discharge planning, treatment planning, etc.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the Involuntary Treatment Act process. Monitor timelines and documentation.
- Participate in individual and group supervision as required. Participate in ongoing education, including in-services, training, and other activities to maintain and improve competency. Demonstrate competency through post-testing, skill observation, and performance as assessed by direct supervisor.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services field
- 3 years experience in mental health, substance abuse treatment, or relevant work
- Knowledge of the Washington State behavioral health system of care and resources within it
- 1 year of supervisory or management experience
- Ability to perform Safe Clinch restraint techniques
- Must be a current holder of Registered Agency Affiliated counselor (AAC) certification, or have the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
- National Provider Identifier (NPI) or ability to obtain an NPI prior to the start date

Experience working with individuals in a psychiatric setting
Knowledge of and experience with the Washington State involuntary treatment process

The standard hiring range for this position in Kirkland, WA is $40.00 to $44.00 per hour. The exact compensation will be based on factors such as years of experience, competency, and skill level.
