Job DescriptionDeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a dedicated Supervisor to lead field operations and ensure high standards of performance, safety, and customer service. This role involves overseeing 4 to 7 crews, maintaining quality assurance, and providing comprehensive support across various operational facets. Approx. start: 1/1/2025.
Operations Support:
- Direct field supervision of employees, ensuring efficient crew management.
- Recommend disciplinary actions, including terminations, as necessary.
- Follow up on job quality and crew productivity to meet company standards.
- Ensure foremen have the necessary equipment and materials as per contract specifications.
- Perform spot checks on:
- Calibration of systems
- Truck inspections
- Safety inspections
- Foreman’s paperwork for accuracy and legibility
Service:
- Conduct follow-up contact with customers for quality assurance.
- Document customer interactions and utilize feedback for crew and management improvement.
- Assist foremen in addressing customer or public complaints.
- Report potential liabilities immediately to management.
Training:
- Provide ongoing training and support for employees in the field.
- Conduct safety training sessions in collaboration with the Risk Management Department.
- Facilitate technical training, including application techniques, equipment setup, calibration, and maintenance.
- Support new hires by reinforcing training and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of in-house training programs.
Sales Support:
- Contribute to sales efforts by attending pre-bid meetings and performing field assessments.
- Identify prospective customers and follow up on bids.
- Engage in discussions with customers regarding extra work or upcoming opportunities.
Safety:
- Ensure all employees comply with regulatory and company safety policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
- A valid driver’s license required and willingness to travel to job sites.
- Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check, and motor vehicle record review.
- 1 to 3 years of proven supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple crews effectively.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Greens Industry or related field preferred.
- Supervisory, budgeting, operational, facility and subordinate development experience preferred.
- Experience in vegetation management a plus.
