What You Will Do:
As a key player under the guidance of the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the production of company products are of the highest quality while also striving to maintain the lowest possible cost. This role is instrumental in meeting company performance standards, customer specifications, and delivery requirements per company policies and procedures.• Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments.
o Directly supervise the systems integration and test functions to ensure the production of company products at the highest quality at the lowest possible cost.
o Meeting company performance standards, customer specifications, and delivery requirements per company policies and procedures.
• Update the Daily Gemba Boards and participate daily Gemba walks to meet customer requirements.
• Plan production schedules within assigned areas and review parts and sub-assembly availability against the build schedule.
• Review parts shortages with the supply chain team and adjust schedules as necessary.
• Ensure that new and current employees are trained in the processes and methods required to achieve the company’s quality, quantity, and safety standards and to ensure ISO9001.
• Participate in daily planning meetings, recommending space, personnel, and equipment requirements.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures and plan the repair of machines and equipment to minimize downtime.
• Develop, recommend, and implement departmental policies, procedures, processes, and methods.
• Continually evaluate processes and methods and recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment, performance, utilization of people, and product quality.
• Act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems, analyze and resolve work problems, and assist workers in solving work problems.
• Maintain departmental supplies, tools, equipment and order as necessary.
• Ensure the completion of all required production paperwork, records, and documentation, such as timecards and quality records.
• Approve vacation schedules
• Ensure compliance with departmental housekeeping standards and all safety and work rules and regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree and one to two years of relat4ed experience, or two years of college and three to five years of progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Effective communication, both internal and external
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, and percentag3es.
- Proficiency in problem solving with various variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Proficient in training employees, assigning and directing work, assessing performance, rewarding, and addressing complaints.
