Position Summary
The Surplus Lines Supervisor is responsible for ensuring tasks are assigned efficiently, schedules are maintained, and work is monitored for accuracy within the Surplus Lines team. The role serves as a knowledgeable resource, offering guidance on surplus lines tax regulations and ensuring compliance. They actively monitor changes in laws, collaborate with peers, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
What will your job entail?
Job Responsibilities: • Provides immediate supervision to a unit of employees within the Surplus Lines team, assigns tasks, and monitors work at frequent intervals to ensure efficiency and accuracy. • Offers consultation and guidance to team members on the laws governing surplus lines tax filings in designated states and ensures balancing of risk among surplus lines products. • Receives tax filing information electronically and oversees the timely and accurate submission of surplus lines tax filings in accordance with state-specific regulations. • Works diligently to maintain current and accurate information on changes in applicable laws related to surplus lines tax filings and provides timely updates to the team. • Interacts daily with subordinates and functional peer groups, exchanges information and conveys straightforward details about surplus lines filings and related matters. • Takes corrective action as necessary to rectify any discrepancies or errors in surplus lines billing processes and conducts regular reviews to determine if taxes have been properly billed. • Utilizes online systems efficiently to retrieve and deliver multiple documentation, including reports and filings and streamlines processes within the Surplus Lines Department. • Maintains schedules of the team, provides constructive feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations to ensure continuous improvement and professional development. • Collaborates with peers within the enterprise services team, shares insights and best practices to enhance the overall effectiveness of surplus lines operations. Work Experience and Education: • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in Surplus Lines, Insurance Operations. • Bachelor's degree required; Business Administration, Finance, and Risk Management preferred. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered. Licenses & Certifications: • Prescribed: Must meet minimum requirements for state P&C and/or surplus line licenses • Preferred: Associate in Surplus Lines Insurance (ASLI), Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR)

The target salary range for this position is $66,600.00 - $87,412.00 annually.
The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
