Heavy Highway Construction Surveyor

Department: Engineering

Reports To : VP Engineering

Status: Non - Exempt

Responsibilities:

● Read and interpret blueprints and specifications

● Layout of curbs, structures, drainage, basins, utilities and edge of pavements, including grade calculations

● Assist with gathering as-built (record survey) data when required

● Conduct existing condition surveys

● Resolve technical problems and assist with training field employees on GPS equipment

● Establish GPS Control / calibrations for field operations

● Setup and maintain GPS equipment for field operations, including machine controls

● Work closely with Riegler field and office personnel

Qualifications:

● 3 years + experience jobsite layout staking

● Associates degree (preferred) related to surveying

● Proficiency in reading blueprints and specifications

● Experience using GPS and robotic surveying technologies, methods, and software

● Proficiency with Trimble (preferred) construction layout software and equipment

● Ability to work 5-6 days a week, 8-12 hours a day
