🚀 Position Overview
Under the supervision of the Project LIFE Program Manager, is responsible for providing consultation services to inform policy development and program design to ensure services provided to victims/survivors of human trafficking are provided through a client driven, wellness and recovery model that is strengths based, culturally relevant, trauma informed, consumer driven and outcome based. The Anti Human Trafficking Consultant will meet with Project LIFE team to discuss policy and services, identify gaps and challenges, areas of improvement and identify necessary community partners. Will provide consultation on challenging cases using lived experience to inform guidance and educate Project LIFE team in their work with clients. Will use lived experience to inform the development of outreach activities targeting at-risk populations, with emphasis on all forms of trafficking and oversight on life skills curriculum.
🔠Key Responsibilities
- Review and provide feedback on existing policies, procedures and protocols of program through a survivor lens to ensure that programming is survivor-centered and maintains focus on best practices approaches to working with this population.
- Participate in the development of outreach activities to include the identification of populations at-risk for trafficking, settings for conducting outreach efforts, customized delivery of outreach activities and materials and lend expertise to how screenings are conducted and engagement strategies.
- Lend lived experience to the development of life skills curriculum that will address the skills necessary for self-sufficiency (i.e. finances/budgeting, banking, credit, roommate etiquette, finding housing, job skills, work etiquette/professionalism, career exploration, conflict resolution, etc.).
- Lend lived experience to consultation with direct service providers via group supervision to educate and inform their work with clients that maintains emphasis on survivor-centered perspective and safety.
- Participate in human trafficking work groups and committees to share expertise in the area of human trafficking, resiliency, and recovery.
✅ What You'll Need
- Successful candidate must have experience as a survivor of human trafficking.
- A Master's degree in behavioral science or related field is preferred.
- Successful candidate must be compatible with the agency's mission, which is to build self-reliance among youth, individuals and families through problem solving, skill-building and accessible community-based services;
- All interactions and work related activities need to be done in a manner that is culturally sensitive to the population being served
- Knowledge of community resources a plus, as well as ability to identify client strengths as relevant to overcoming identified challenges to self-sufficiency
- Adheres to HIPAA and other confidentiality laws.
