Foster City, CASoftware – Embedded Software & Systems Integration /Full-time /HybridZoox's Hardware Software Integration team is responsible for ensuring various hardware subsystems work reliably on our vehicle platform on a day-to-day basis
You will oversee the deployment of next-generation compute, sensor, and data networking systems for autonomous vehicles. This role is essential and fundamental to the execution stage of Zoox's vehicle program, ensuring that hardware systems operate predictably at all times
This team is the first line of defense for any issues with our vehicle fleet
You will have excellent communication skills and are excited about being the first responder to triage and debug difficult hardware-software integration issues
You will also be responsible for supporting bring-up and manufacturing operations for the vehicle.In this role, you will:Lead and drive debugging of hardware-software issues to closure
Identify and work with key cross-functional partners to root cause and provide resolutionProvide feedback to engineering teams to improve future product versionsUnderstand the vehicle assembly and test requirements and come up with test plans and specifications to support manufacturing operationsDevelop test automation, leverage in-house analysis tools to perform debugging and improve test coverage, and enhance test infrastructureDevelop new processes and human workflows to improve fleet stabilityQualificationsBS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant industry experienceExperience and skill in determining the root cause of complex issues involving HW, FW, and SWExperience with hardware interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, USB, UART, LIN
I2C, SPI, etc and related testing/debugging toolsFamiliarity with requirements and test case developmentFluency in Python or similar scripting language, git/version management tools, SW debugging toolsBonus QualificationsWorking knowledge of requirements management tools such as Polarion/JIRAStrong EE fundamentals with familiarity in microcontroller-based systems, high-speed signals, sensing, and power electronicsWorking knowledge of schematic design, PCB layout, and electrical characterization equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.)CompensationThere are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights
The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000
A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package
Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level
Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance
