Job Title: System Medical Director, Occupational Health, and Employee Health Services
Location: West Reading, PA
Summary:
Trusted Staffe is partnering with a leading regional integrated healthcare system to identify a highly skilled and experienced System Medical Director, Occupational Health, and Employee Health Services. This leadership position is vital in ensuring the health and well-being of employees while maintaining compliance with occupational health regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational medicine, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for fostering a safe and healthy work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the System Director to develop and implement a strategic vision for Occupational Health and Employee Health Services, ensuring a systematic approach to care delivery and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical leadership and expertise in Occupational Health and Worker's Compensation matters, including overseeing occupational claims and ensuring the needs of both the institution and employees are met.
- Policy Development and Implementation: Collaborate with the dyad partner to develop and implement policies and practices that promote employee wellness, infection prevention, and overall safety.
- Infection Prevention and Control: Support the EICP Department in controlling outbreaks, minimizing employee exposure, and implementing vaccination initiatives.
- Staff Management: Supervise physicians and advanced practice providers in Employee Health and Occupational Medicine, ensuring their recruitment, retention, growth, and education.
- Quality Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve the employee experience and patient experience within Employee Health and Occupational Medicine practices. Ensure program compliance with regulatory agencies and hospital policy.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Develop, review, and collaborate on analyses regarding the quality of programs, employee health, incident tracking, and exposure data. Interpret results and ensure appropriate action is taken.
- Collaboration: Serve as a clinical resource and consultant in Occupational Health. Actively participate in relevant committees, including Infection Prevention, Workplace Safety, and Incident Command.
- Worker's Compensation and Safety: Provide clinical expertise and oversight to Worker's Compensation, FMLA, and Case Management programs. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and support safety investigations.
- Medical Review Officer (MRO): Serves as the MRO for internal drug testing procedures and external client support.
- Technology Integration: Promote the use of technology to increase efficiency and enhance job performance.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Occupational Medicine.
- Comfortable and experienced working in a matrix organization.
- Current, unrestricted medical license.
- Membership in good standing of the Medical Staff.
- Knowledge of the PA workers' compensation system, DOH regulations, and PA Act 148.
- Understanding of OSHA, ADA, FMLA, and GINA regulations.
- OSHA and MRO certifications.
- Strong knowledge of workers' compensation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong education and teaching skills.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to meet specific physical requirements, including sitting, reaching, lifting to 25 pounds, pulling, bending, stooping, twisting, standing, and walking.
- Potential exposure to unusual elements (extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, loud noises).
- The work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials requiring extensive safety precautions and protective equipment.
- Will work with blood or blood-borne pathogens, requiring OSHA training.
