The System OB/Gyn Hospitalist Medical Director provides clinical leadership and direction for OB/Gyn hospital medicine and the OB/Gyn hospitalist program. The work will primarily focus on inpatient, though it will also require collaboration with clinic-based services such as Maternal Fetal Medicine and partnerships with affiliate OB/Gyn groups. The work will be driven with the goals of promoting evidence-guided practices, improving patient and provider experience, and driving high quality outcomes.
The System OB/Gyn Hospitalist Medical Director will ensure effective and efficient delivery of quality care, consistent with the mission, vision, assets, hospital/physician and provider collaboration strategies of North Memorial Health. They will support the development, coordination, implementation, and improvement of systems to provide high quality patient care.
In collaboration with administrative leaders, the System OB/Gyn Hospitalist Medical Director plays a key role in advancing, implementing, and improving organizational initiatives and strategies, and participates in leadership committees as assigned. They will provide consultation in areas of new program development, clinical policies, procedures and protocols, clinical staff/medical staff recruitment, education and orientation, quality improvement processes, regulatory compliance, and accreditation.
The System OB/Gyn Hospitalist Medical Director will support efforts in implementing appropriate staffing levels in conjunction with organizational needs. Promoting an environment conducive to staff and provider satisfaction and retention while assuring a respectful and sensitive diverse work environment is a key responsibility of the role. On an as needed basis, the System OB/Gyn Hospital Medical Director will facilitate education, including Family Medicine residents and medical students rotating through OB.

Schedule Details:
- Medical Director FTE 0.214 FTE *
- Candidates interested in additional administrative FTE are invited to inquire about the physician lead role for the System OB Clinical Practice Council for a potential additional 0.1 FTE.
- *Medical Director must also work clinically. The range of clinical FTE is flexible per the preference of the applicant. Minimal FTE 0.428 (Equivalent of three 24 hour calls monthly) up to 0.714 (Equivalent of 5.5 24 hour calls monthly)
- Schedule is primarily 24 hour calls but 12 hour shifts are available per individuals preferences.

What background does the OB/Gyn Hospitalist Medical Director bring:
- Board Certified or Board eligible OB/GYN
- Graduate of an accredited Medical or Osteopathic School required.
- Relevant clinical experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology required.
- Current medical staff credentials in specialty
- Current State of Minnesota Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy license
- Valid DEA Registration
